Customized a Panel PC to meet the specific needs of a start-up company in Saudi Arabia.

Background and Challenges

DTC requested the development of an 8.4" fanless panel PC with wide-temperature capability. The device is intended to communicate data with storage and battery systems, providing data protection in the event of an electronic power shutdown.

1. Design of B3 Power Charge and I/O Board.

This board will be used to manage the power and battery charging functions, including overcharge and short circuit protection. We will also adjust the positioning of the I/O ports and connectors.

2. Enclosure design

The enclosure consolidates all electronic components and mitigates overheating issues. We typically offer two ID concepts for you to choose from, both specifically designed to ensure the device operates efficiently in environments with temperatures up to 60˚C.

We will also explore design options that allow you to easily assemble the B1 & B2 boards independently.

Recognizing the extreme temperatures and frequent sandstorms in Saudi Arabia, we support our clients in creating an optimal model that overcomes these obstacles with features such as resistance to high temperatures and a design without fans.

The designed touch panel is capable of withstanding high temperatures, with resistance ranging from -20°C to 85°C. The fanless design ensures the product remains operational, avoiding shutdowns during sandstorms.

This board manages power and battery charging functions while providing protection against overcharging and short circuits. It also includes adjustments to the positioning of output I/O ports and connectors.

Regarding the enclosure, it will incorporate all electronic components and solve potential overheating concerns.

Application

We typically offer two ID concepts for customers to choose from, both designed to ensure the device operates efficiently in environments up to 60˚C. We also research the most user-friendly design approaches to enable customers to easily assemble the B1 & B2 boards themselves.
